DNA Project Progress:** The Clay Family Society DNA Project has success at the micro-level, with participants successfully identifying matching family lines and tracing how they have carried down to the present day.

Geographic Origins & Surnames:** Most participating society members appear to have United Kingdom forebears. However, some likely have German ancestors whose surname, Kley, was changed to Clay after immigrating.

Individual Lineage Discoveries:
* Research successfully identified that Thomas Clay (ancestor of member Jonathan Moreland) had a brother named James Clay in Pike County, Ohio.
* Member Debra (Bailey) Johnson was traced as a descendant of Mitchell Clay and Phoebe Belcher through their son, Mitchell Jr..
* Member Shelby Riddle was verified to descend from Archibald Clay (1808–1886) of Nottoway County, Virginia.
* New member Liam Clay’s maternal lineage was successfully traced back to the late 16th century in and around North Wingfield, England.
